Benefit-oriented use of artificial intelligence (AI) in purchasing and supplier management
Burghausen, 20.11.2025: Simmeth System GmbH is putting artificial intelligence into practical use: With the launch of the new AI-supported onboarding process in SC-Manager, the first application of the specially developed SC supply chain agent is now available. The solution supports companies in creating supplier profiles more efficiently, researching information in a targeted manner and significantly increasing the quality of master data – directly integrated into existing processes.
The new function automates the creation of supplier profiles – a previously time-consuming process in supplier management that often costs companies many hours of manual research. The SC-Agent analyzes publicly available information on new or existing suppliers and generates a structured, quality-assured profile directly in the system in just a few minutes.
“We deliberately use artificial intelligence where it makes work easier – without additional effort for the user. Onboarding is an ideal use case for this,” explains Managing Director Markus Simmeth.
In addition to the massive time savings, automated data procurement also leads to higher data quality in supplier management – a prerequisite for transparency and well-founded decisions along the supply chain.
The development is based on a well-founded catalog of requirements from customer projects and was built up over several months in close coordination with experts from purchasing and supply chain management.
Further AI-supported functions are already being planned and tested:
“Our aim is to gradually support processes along the entire supplier lifecycle exactly where they will bring tangible benefits,” continues Simmeth.
