The SC-Manager software from Simmeth System now uses innovative artificial intelligence (AI) from Microsoft for automatic document recognition. Through Optical Character Recognition (OCR), entirely new possibilities are opened up for users in their daily work with all types of documents.
This feature reads uploaded documents and automatically transfers the information into the SC-Manager database. This means users no longer need to manually enter additional data such as names or expiration dates. This innovation significantly reduces effort and increases the accuracy and speed of document processing.
The data read from the documents is automatically processed further by the SC-Manager Supplier Management system. This means it is assigned to specific processes and responsible parties, marked with status indicators, forwarded to other systems if necessary, and integrated into the automatic email notification system, for example, for warnings before expiration dates.
Specifically, suppliers can upload their invoices and certificates via the supplier portal. These are read into the database via OCR, monitored with deadlines by the SC-Manager, and the data is automatically forwarded to the IT systems of accounting or quality management. This enables seamless integration of supplier processes into the overall workflow of the company and significantly increases efficiency in daily operations.
“The integration of Microsoft AI in the area of document recognition opens up entirely new perspectives for our users in document management,” says Markus Simmeth, CEO of Simmeth System. “Our customers can now not only upload and manage their documents but also benefit from the powerful OCR functionality to process data even more efficiently automatically. The additional deadline monitoring offers further added value by proactively drawing attention to important dates and deadlines. The ability to seamlessly integrate supplier processes into the overall workflow of companies and their IT systems highlights the practical benefits of our solution for supply chain management.”
The integration of Microsoft's AI underscores Simmeth’s commitment to using pioneering technologies to meet the demands of supply chain management.
